Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Marlow (or Great Marlow)

Marlow (or Great Marlow), market town and par., Bucks, on river Thames, 5 miles NW. of Maidenhead and 32½ miles W. of London by rail, 6245 ac., pop. 4763; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank. Market-day, Saturday. The river is here spanned by an iron suspension bridge (1835) 225 ft. in span. Great Marlow. has mfrs. of lace, paper, &c. It returned 2 members to Parliament continuously from James I. until 1867, and 1 member from 1867 until 1885.
