Place:

Warksburn  Northumberland

In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Warksburn like this:

WARKSBURN, a township in Wark parish, Northumberland; 2 miles NNW of Wark village. Acres, 9,925. Pop., 199. Houses, 37.

The location is essentially that given by the Bartholomew and Imperial gazetteers: two miles west of Wark, exactly on the Warks Burn river. The name "Warksburn" has not been found on a topographic map other than as the name of the river.
