In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Westcombe Park like this:
WESTCOMBE, an old seat in the NW of Kent; ½ mile E of Greenwich. It belonged, at different times, to the Ballards, the Lambards, the Biddulphs, the Walpoles, and the Duke of Bolton.
The location is approximately that of Westcombe Park station.
