Duncryne, an abrupt, conical, and finely-wooded hill in the centre of Kilmaronock parish, Dumbartonshire, 4 miles NE of Balloch pier. Resting on a basis of about 2 acres, and rising 462 feet above sea-level, it consists of trap rock disintegrated on the surface by subaerial denudation. Its summit is gained by a winding pathway, and commands a splendid view of Strathendrick, the Vale of Leven, and the hill-screens of Loch Lomond.
