Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Longleat

Longleat, seat of the Marquis of Bath, Longbridge Deverill par., Wilts, 2½ miles W. of Warminster; was built in 1567-1579, and stands in park 15 miles in circuit. Bishop Ken (1637-1711) died here.
