Fruin Water, W. Dumbartonshire; rises 2 miles NE. of head of Gare Loch, and flows SE. through Glen Fruin to Loch Lomond 2¼ miles NW. of Balloch pier; the bloody clan conflict of Glenfruin, between the Macgregors and the Colquhouns, was fought Feb. 1603.
