Blessington, par. and market town, N. co. Wicklow, on river Liffey, 10 miles SE. of Sallins ry. sta. and 18 miles SW. of Dublin -- par., 15,780 ac., pop. 1276; town, pop. 332; P.O., T.O. Market-day, Thursday. It is situated amid beautiful scenery. The church contains a monument to the memory of Archbishop Boyle, who did much to improve the town. Granite is quarried.
