Cholmondeley, township, Malpas par., W. Cheshire, 7½ miles W. of Nantwich, 2657 ac. (63 water), pop. 285; contains Cholmondeley Castle, seat of the Earl of Cholmondeley, erected near the old house which was garrisoned by the Royalists in 1643.
