Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Conishead Priory

Conishead Priory, with ry. sta., on W. side of Morecambe Bay, 2 miles SE. of Ulverston, N. Lancashire; first a monastic establishment (12th century), afterwards the seat of the ancient family of Braddyl, and now a hydropathic establishment.
