Donaghadee, seaport town and par. with ry. sta., NE. co. Down, 19 miles E. of Belfast, on the North Channel, 211/2 miles across to Portpatrick in Scotland -- par., 9593 ac., pop. 5334; town, pop. 1861; P.O., T.O., 1 Bank; live cattle and farm produce are the chief exports. The natural harb. has been improved by the construction of piers. At SE. pierhead is a lighthouse, with fixed light (Donaghadee Harb.), seen 12 miles. The town is frequented for sea-bathing.
