Humbleton.-- (or Homildon), township, Doddington par., N. Northumberland, 1 mile NE. of Wooler, 1615 ac., pop. 129; an ancient circular camp crowns an adjoining hill; on the plain below the Earl of Northumberland and his son Hotspur defeated the Earl of Douglas and Duke of Albanny in 1402.
