Langdale, Great and Little, 2 valleys, Grasmere par., Westmorland, separated by Lingmoor Fell; Great Langdale extends 5 miles SE. from the border of Cumberland to Elterwater, and is traversed by Langdale Beck; Little Langdale extends 3½ miles E. to Elterwater, where it joins Great Langdale; is traversed by the headstream of the river Brathay, and contains Langdale Tarn.
