Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Lee

Lee.-- river, co. Cork; rises in Gouganebarra Lough, W. co. Cork, and flows 50 miles E. through Lough Allua and past Macroom and Cork city to Cork Harbour; its chief affluents are the Sullane, Bride, and Glanmire. It is navigable for ships to Cork city, and for boats 2 miles farther up. It flows through much romantic scenery, and abounds in salmon.
