Mount Edgcumbe, seat of the Earl of Mount Edgcumbe, Maker par., Cornwall, on the peninsula between Plymouth Sound and the Hamoaze, opposite Plymouth; is a castellated building of 1550, and is famous for its gardens (Italian, French, and English) and its grounds, which occupy almost the whole of the peninsula.
