Scalpa, island, Harris par., Outer Hebrides, Inverness-shire, at the entrance of East Loch Tarbert, pop. 540; measures 1½ by 2¾ miles, and is low and clad with heath; on E. point of island is a lighthouse 100 ft. high, with a fixed light (Scalpay, Glass Island) 130 ft. above high water and seen 17 miles.
