Shipston on Stour, market town and par., in detached part of Worcestershire, on river Stour, 6 miles E. of Chipping Campden, 1198 ac., pop. 1735; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks, 1 newspaper. Market-day, Saturday. Shipston is an agricultural town, and has, in addition to its weekly market, a monthly cattle market and cattle fairs thrice a year. The par. was a township in Tredington par. until the reign of George I.
