Descriptive Gazetteer Entry for Tremadoc

Tremadoc, small town, Ynys-cynhaiarn par., Carnarvonshire, under Yr-allt-wen (the White Cliff), 1½ mile NW. of Portmadoc sta. and 4½ miles NE. of Criccieth; P.O.; was founded by Mr Maddocks of Tanyrallt early in the 19th century, at the reclaiming of Traeth Mawr, but has been commercially superseded by Portmadoc.
