Henley on Thames, mun. bor., market town, and par., with ry. sta., SE. Oxfordshire, near border of Bucks and Berks, on river Thames, at terminus of ry., 35 miles W. of London - par., 1758 ac., pop. 3692; bor. (partly also in Rotherfield Greys par.), pop. 4604; P.O., T.O., 2 Banks, 1 newspaper. Market-day, Thursday; has trade in malt, flour, corn, and timber; there are several breweries. Henley is an old incorporation, dating from the tenth year of Elizabeth; it was incorporated under the Municipal Act, August 1883.
