LAITH-KIRK, a chapelry in Romald-Kirk parish, N. R. Yorkshire; on the river Tees, at the boundary with Durham, 1 mile SE of Middleton-in-Teesdale, and 9 NW of Barnard-Castle r. station. It was constituted in 1844; and its post-town is Middleton-in-Teesdale, under Darlington. Pop., 1,330. Houses, 229. The living is a p. curacy in the diocese of Ripon.
