Contents:
Individual cholera deaths in London in summer and autumn 1866
Approx. number of rows:
2,236
Table type:
Raw Data
Documentation Author:
Humphrey Southall
Geography:
Reporting units are identified by:
   Registration District
   Registration sub-District
Chronology:
The data are for the single year 1866.
Dates and times are identified by:
   Day
   Month

Sources:

  1. The data come from daily reports of deaths in London, listed by sub-district, in which cholera was cited as a cause. Each death is recorded as a separate record. [Further source information is needed from Graham Mooney]

Notes:

  1. The data include all deaths in London in which Cholera was cited as a cause on the death certificate, during the nine weeks between the 19th of July and the 6th of October 1866.
  2. All rows have been matched to the AUO. As the rows are for individual deaths, most sub-Districts in London have no data for any particular day, while some sub-districts will have more than one death on a particular day.
  3. A few records have no exact date. For these the day and month values are set to 99.

Checking:

  1. The data are individual-level, and are as supplied by Graham Mooney.
  2. All Registration District and Sub District units are matched to the AUO.
