In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Silverley like this:
SILVERLEY, a hamlet in Ashley parish, Cambridge; 4¾ miles ESE of Newmarket. It was once a parish; and it still ranks as a vicarage, annexed to Ashley.
Silverley is now part of EAST CAMBRIDGESHIRE District. Click here for graphs and data of how EAST CAMBRIDGESHIRE has changed over two centuries. For statistics about Silverley itself, go to Statistics.
