Place:

Dyffryn Llanfair  Montgomeryshire

In 1870-72, John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales described Dyffryn Llanfair like this:

DYFFRIN-LLANFAIR, a township in Newtown parish, Montgomery; near Newtown. Pop., 375.

The location is simply that of Newtown. "Dyfrryn" has not been found on any topographic map, other than on the modern 1:25,000 map as the name of an industrial estate on the eastern edge of Newtown, and neither does it appear on the two detailed maps of Newtown published by the 1832 and 1868 Parliamentary Boundary Commissions.
