WHALLEY-RANGE, a chapelry in Manchester parish, Lancashire; 1½ mile S of Manchester r. station. It was constituted in 1854; and its Post town is Manchester. Pop., 3,980. Houses, 748. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Manchester. Value, £422.* Patrons, Trustees. The church was built in 1849.
