In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Rush like this:
Rush.-- small seaport and ry. sta. (Lusk and Rush, 2 miles W.), Lusk par., in co. and 16 miles NE. of Dublin, pop. 1071; P.O., T.O.
