In 1887, John Bartholomew's Gazetteer of the British Isles described Palace like this:
Palace East, ry. sta., W. co. Wexford, 3 miles SE. of Batlywilliam sta. and 6 miles NE. of New Ross; P.O., called Palace; adjacent is the seat of Palace House.
