ROLLESBY, a village and a parish in Flegg district, Norfolk. The village stands 4½ miles N E of Acle, and 7½ N W of Yarmouth r. station; and is a seat of petty sessions. The parish comprises 1, 653 acres. Post-town, Burgh, under Norwich. Real property, £3, 832. Pop., 531. Houses, 102. ...
The property is much subdivided. The manor belongs to the trustees of the late J. M. Ensor, Esq. R. Hall is the seat of Major Longley. The Flegg workhouse is here. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Norwich. Value, £642.* Patron, B. P. Nunes, Esq. The church is old but good, and has anoctagonal tower. There are a national school, and charities £19. T. Goodwin, the chaplain of Cromwell, was a native.
