PLAINMELLOR, a township in Haltwhistle parish, Northumberland; on the South Tyne river and the Carlisle and Newcastle railway, 1 mile S E of Haltwhistle. Acres, 4, 904. Pop., 143. Houses, 26. The manor belongs to D. Dixon, Esq. Much of the surface is occupied by P. Fell.
