Notes:

This area of 1,534 acres but no people is listed in the 1871 and 1881 censuses, but not in earlier or later ones. Nor is it identifiable in the list of boundary changes in the 1891 census. The 1871 census describes it as 'formerly portions of Rothbury Common, which was divided under an Act passed in the year 1831. They were allotted to the Lord of the Manor in compensation for his rights and interest in and to the soil of the said Common. The Ordnance Survey states that the five manorial allotments are common to the townships of Cartington, Debdon, Mount Healey, Rothbury, and Paperhaugh; but does not state how much belongs to each township'.
