NEWBY, a hamlet in Rainton-cum-Newby township, Topcliffe parish, N. R. Yorkshire; 6 miles N by W of Boroughbridge. Newby Park here is the seat of the Hudsons. The hamlet is a meet for the Bedale hounds.
