PRESTON, a parish, with a village, in Cosford district, Suffolk; on the river Brett, 2 miles W of Lavenham r.station. Post-town, Bildeston, under Ipswich. Acres, 1, 931. Real property, £2, 880. Pop., 348. Houses, 73. The property is divided among a few. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ely. Value, £520.* Patron, Emmanuel College, Cambridge. The church becameruinous in 1863, by the falling of the tower, but washandsomely restored, by voluntary contributions, in 1868. There are a national school, and charities £11.
