  1. This table is derived from occ_1911_s, with SIC (2007) codes added by Humphrey Southall.
  2. Unlike the England and Wales table, the Scottish table seems to list all individual occupational categories in the classification they share.

Columns within table:

row_number Integer number. Sequence number and primary key. NB the occ_1911_lg_t table uses these as identifiers.
occup_level Integer number. Number between 0 and 3:
  1. Identifies rows holding overall totals.
  2. Used for the totals for each Order.
  3. Used for the numbered sub-Orders.
  4. Used for the numbered individual occupations.
order_number Integer number. Number of the Order, from 1 to 23.
suborder_number Integer number. Number of the sub-Order containing the category. NB unlike the England and Wales listing, all Orders contain sub-Orders although some contain only one.
occup_number Integer number. Number of the individual occupation, from 1 to 403. Not null only for level 3 rows.
occupation Text string (max.len.=104). Occupation, as listed in the original report.
occupation_name Text string (max.len.=104). The contents of 'occupation' with any leading number stripped out.
sic_division Integer number. Number of the most appropriate Division within the Standard Industrial Classification (2007). Held only for level 3 rows, and left empty for categories of people who were not in work.
sic_division_name Text string (max.len.=144). Name of the SIC Division.
